For some, Brenton Brown needs no introduction.
This album is his best yet. Cool, sophisticated, strong and
melodic. I was going to give this album 3.5 but the more I
listen, the more it grows. Next week it will have become a
4.5 so let's post the review quick ...
Track one: Receive our Adoration.
A crisp, clear call to worship with a strong beat and familiar
vocal harmonies. My favourite so far. Guitar, synth and drums,
but mixed with care.
Track two: Strength will Rise.
Brenton as obviously been reading my "all time top 10" worship
tracks. A classic produced with style and clarity. No, this
is my favourite. The more I listen the more it grows ...
Track three: You're amazing God.
Mid-Atlantic rock. I'm wondering if this track will grow on
me too, I like track two better, but then you can't have every
track at the top if the list. A bit messy in parts but only
compared to the first two. Nice feedback.
Track four: All who are thirsty.
Opens with acoustic guitar, strings and synth. Thoughtful
and restful oasis between the energy that is Brenton. Come
Lord Jesus, come. The clarity of message is remarkable thro
each track, as Brenton sings with heart and soul.
Track five: Over all the earth.
(Reign in me) What I like about this album is that it has
an unusual honesty and simplicity. Its strength is possibly
the sincerity with which Brenton delivers both music and vocals.
Track six: Praise is rising.
He's definitely looked at my worship playlist. We must be
guitar buddies. Hosanna for that. A great track to end on,
in strong worship band tradition, uplifting ... and I want
to dance ... he finishes on "You are the God who saves us".
Classic.
